Malayalam Art Font

A new font has been designed that mimics the forms of the Malayalam script - a cool “fine art font project” in my opinion, and good to know about (Thanks to Gustavo F for the link) although I’ve heard plenty of criticism of it by text type designers.

David, sadly this project is not a Malayalam font, but rather a Latin typeface whose forms are similar to/inspired by Malayalam. You type i the letters, then tuirn the text on its side to read it. It is a display face.

So, you can’t get real Malayalam text with it. Mayybe with a lot of patience, you could write out some Malayalam words with it, but not the language.

If you run the German text of the interview through an online translator, you should be able to get the gyst of the project.

Ah yes, I took a look for about 5 seconds and made the post.

Its a fine art project, really, and I’m okay with that; I’ll change the article text.
